Mermaid Andromeda's Octopus Garden
Mermaid Andromeda’s Octopus Garden specializes in a variety of hand sculpted items including “pet” octopus and frog companion sculptures in a wide range of sizes and colors from the more life-like to the more whimsical. A popular item from previous conventions, the Octopus Garden and Froggy Pond To-Go are back; small portable faux aquarium kits that include one handcrafted baby octopus or froglet and everything you need to decorate your new little friend’s home. For wearables, there are the adorable Purrmaid and Merbun charms; cute little fishy-tailed kitties and bunnies with glittering tails, pearly flukes and fins, and sparkling crystal eyes as well as Jellyfish pendants that glow-in-the-dark, and a limited selection of Head-fin headbands. This year something new is swimming into the Garden, Mermaid Andromeda has conjured up a small selection of limited edition one of a kind mermaid figurines from her Swimming Dead collection as well as some other fun merfolk friends!

Alexandra Von Burg has been a master art quilter and doll maker in the bay area for the past thirty years. Her illustrative style leans toward fantasy, and she loves mermaids the most. much of her art work is one-of-a-kind, but she also makes multiples of affordable ornaments and themed gifts. For the Mermaid convention, expect to see lots of hand drawn and quilted mermaids frolicking on wall hangings, zippered carry-all bags, and in 3-D as soft sculptures.
